 SSC CHSL Tier-I Exam Pattern 2026 

The Tier-I examination consists of four subjects.

 For Data Entry Operator (DEO) 

For specified DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’ posts, the required data-entry speed is 15,000 key depressions per hour. The test duration is 15 minutes and the passage contains approximately 3,700–4,000 key depressions.

For other DEO/DEO Grade ‘A’ posts, the required speed is 8,000 key depressions per hour, with approximately 2,000–2,200 key depressions in the passage.

 For LDC/JSA Typing Test 

Candidates can choose Hindi or English as the typing-test medium while filling the application form.

  • English: 35 words per minute
  • Hindi: 30 words per minute
  • Test duration: 10 minutes

For Hindi typing, candidates are required to use Mangal Font.
